This is a great battle between Steven Osgood’s SHOOTIN’ STAR of Vinalhaven and Jeff Eaton’s LA BELLA VITA from Stonington in Diesel Class K.

BASS HARBOR LOBSTER BOAT RACES – 29 June

We were already for the third lobster boat race of the season at Bass Harbor, but unfortunately mother nature was up to no good with a questionable forecast for the day before and at least until early afternoon on race day. I made my way to Bass Harbor from Searsport on SARI ANN I [40’ Johns Bay Boat, 375-hp 3208 Caterpillar] with Travis Otis and FIRST TEAM [Northern Bay 36; 410-hp Sisu 645]. It was overcast with the threat of rain, but not a bad two and a half hour run. That was until we were docking and the skies opened up. When we were getting ready for sign-ups in the new harbor master’s office it was misting and the fog was threatening to shut us in. When sign-ups were finished, we had 56 boats entered and the weather looked a little better. As we headed out to the barge on the finish line we could see from one end of the course to the other, we were good to go.

There was a little contention last year, which was worked out at the Maine Lobster Boat Racing Meeting at the Maine Fishermen’s Forum in March. Colyn Rich would continue running the races on the water and a group from the Town of Tremont took over the event on land. In the end it all seemed to work out.

The first three races were for Work Boats and there were no entrants in Class A (Skiffs 16 feet and under, Outboard up to 30 hp, operators up to 16 years old) and just two in Class B (Inboard, Outboard or Outdrive, 31 to 90 hp). Mason Vintinner in SCREEN TIME [Corson 16; 90-hp Yamaha] showed the way to the finish line with Cameron Lunt’s SEASPRAY [Novi 21; 75-hp Yamaha] coming in second. There were five boats on the line for Class C (Inboard, Outboard or Outdrive, 90 hp and over) and the win went to Caleb Norton [19 Mako; 250-hp Mercury] followed by James Robinson’s, Jr.’s HURRICANE REAGAN [Eastporter 24; 225-hp Yamaha].

There were just two boats entered in the five Gasoline Classes. There were no entrants in Class A (Four and Six Cylinder, 24 feet and over), B (Up to 383 cid, 24 feet and over) or C (376 to 525 cid, 24 feet and over) and there was just one boat in Class D (V8, 376 cid and over, 24 feet and over (Non-working racer)), Mark Freeman’s FOOLISH PLEASURE [30’ Custom Riley Beal; 800-hp 550 Chevy] and Class E (V8, Over 525 cid, 28 feet and over, Turbos/superchargers, Alcohol and Nitrous), Josh Linscott’s BLACK DIAMOND [Holland 32, 672 Chevrolet]. They were sent up together with FOOLISH PLEASURE coming over the line first by a couple of boat lengths, but they each got first in their respective classes.

There are 17 Diesel Classes and there were no entrants in Classes L (901 hp and over, 28 feet to 39 feet 11 inches), N(B) (40 feet and over, 1001 hp and over) and O (Non-working boats, any length, any horsepower). Due to some classes having one or two racers some races were combined with other races to speed things along and make the racing more exciting. Since there was just one entrant in Class A (Up to 235 hp, 24 to 31 feet 11 inches), Dillion Harper’s MISS LAUREN III [Novi 28; 135-hp John Deere] she was added to the four boats in B (Up to 235 hp, 32 feet to 39 feet 11 inches) but would win her class. Leading the pack to the finish was Jeff Gove’s SHOCKWAVE [Harold Gower 38; 210-hp Cummins], but sneaking over on the far side of the course was Colyn Rich’s SILVER CHARIOT [BHM 36; 210-hp Caterpillar]. There were four boats competing in Class C (236 to 335 hp, 24 to 33 feet 11 inches), but just two in Class D (236 to 335 hp, 34 feet to 39 feet 11 inches), so they were combined. At the drop of the flag Mike Gillespie’s LEAH MORGAN [Stanley 28; 265-hp Cummins] jumped right into the lead and easily won Class C. Second went to Everett Beers’ MISS KARI LYNNE [Mitchell Cove 32; 265-hp John Deere]. First in Class D was Chad Libby, Jr.’s MYRTLE BELLE [Libby 34, 205-hp John Deere] all the way from Beals Island. In Class E (336 to 435 hp, 24 to 33 feet 11 inches) the boat to beat for the last several seasons has been Randy Durkee’s AUDREY MAY [Holland 32; 425-hp Cummins], but as he was coming up the course it was evident he was in a real close battle with Mason Vintinner’s AMY KATHREN [Osmond 29; 350-hp Cummins], but he maintained his lead for the win. It was no surprise to see Winfred Alley, Jr.’s FAITH MELLE [Libby 34; 425-hp Cummins] sailing easily to victory in Diesel Class F (336 to 435 hp, 34 feet to 39 feet 11 inches). Second went to Robert Lee’s JUSTIN & COLBY II [Mitchell Cove 35; 400-hp John Deere] followed by Ryan Mitchell’s PATRIOT [Calvin Beal 34; 420-hp Caterpillar]. Next up was Class G (436 to 550 hp, 28 to 35 feet 11 inches) and the boat to beat would be Mariena Beal’s MY TURN [Wayne Beal 32; 500-hp Cummins] and in second was George Lawson, Jr.’s MISS BETH III [Mitchell Cove 35; 550-hp John Deere]. There were four boats on the line for Class H (436 to 550 hp, 36 feet to 39 feet 11 inches) and first went to Willie Coombs’ MELYNDA M. [Wayne Beal 36; 500-hp FPT]. There was a real good fight for the second spot and that went to FIRST TEAM followed by Brodie Eaton’s FALLEN ANGEL [Calvin Beal 36; 530-hp FPT]. Classes I (551 to 700 hp, 28 to 35 feet 11 inches), J (551 to 700 hp, 36 feet to 39 feet 11 inches) and K (701 to 900 hp, 28 feet to 39 feet 11 inches) were combined. This was a great battle as they worked their way up the course. First over the line was Jeff Eaton’s LA BELLA VITA [Northern Bay 38; 815-hp FPT], the only entrant in Class K. The win in Class I went to Chris Smith’s MISTY [Crowley Beal 33; 650 hp Scania] with second going to Jackson Lemieux’s ASPIRATION [Young Brothers 35; 450-hp Volvo]. The winner of Class J was Roy Hadlock’s JACKPOT [Wayne Beal 36; 675-hp Scania]. If you thought she looked familiar, she is the former GOLD DIGGER owned by Heather Thompson. In second was Carroll Staples’ GOOSE [Mitchell Cove 37; 650-hp Volvo]. Next up was Class M(A) (40 feet and over, up to 500 hp) with four entrants on the line. LaBaron Libby, Jr.’s GRAMP’S LEGACY [Libby 41; 500-hp FPT] crossed the finish line first and remains undefeated for the year. Second over the line was Alan Knowlton’s SEA URCHIN [Young Brothers 45, 425-hp John Deere] followed by Lewis Bishop’s PROVIDER II [Young Brothers 40, 405 Cummins]. The biggest race of the day was in Class M(B) (40 feet and over, 501 to 750 hp) with seven boats on the line, with another one a no show. For the last several years the boat to beat has been Eric Beal’s KIMBERLY ANN [Calvin Beal 42; 750-hp FPT] and he led everyone up the course for another win. Second went to Matt Shepard’s ALEXSA ROSE [Morgan Bay 43; 750-hp John Deere] and in third was Patrick Hanley’s MISS AMELIA [Young Brothers 40; 610-hp Volvo]. Two boats were on the line for Class N(A) (40 feet and over, 751 to 1000 hp), but we all knew that this was going to be a close. As they came up the course, we could not tell who was in the lead, but as they neared the finish line Dana Beal’s NATALIE E. [Libby 41; 1,000-hp FPT] slipped over by mere feet to win over Ryan Lemieux’s OBSESSION [Young Brothers 40; 1,000-hp Caterpillar].

Next was the Wooden Boat Race. There were no entrants in Wooden Boat (up to 35 feet 11 inches), but there were two on the line for Wooden Boat (36 feet and over). As they came up the left side of the course, it was close, but SARI ANN I had a slight lead and would get the win by half a boat length over Wayne Rich’s RICH RETURN [38’ Robert Rich; 210-hp Cummins].

Both gas boats came to the line for the Gasoline Free-for-All and this time BLACK DIAMOND would get the win over FOOLISH PLEASURE.

Six boats came to the line for the Diesel Free-for-All and this turned into a real battle between LA BELLA VITA and MY TURN with LA BELLA VITA winning by half a boat length. Third went to ALEXSA ROSE.

LA BELLA VITA and MY TURN came to the line for the Fastest Lobster Boat and again it was close and when they crossed the line the judges gave the win to MY TURN by less than a quarter of a boat length.

The final race of the day was Fastest Bass Harbor Lobster Boat Race. First over the line was GOOSE, followed by Travis Lunt’s STEPPIN’ UP [Mitchell Cove 35; 580-hp FPT] and MISS AMELIA third.

With fog hanging out just passed the race course I opted to head for home, but the reports from the award ceremony was that it was a great time with food trucks and lots of prizes.

MOOSABEC LOBSTER BOAT RACES – 5 July

Anytime I prepare for these races I am also prepared to find the Reach full of thick fog and trying to find a rain date that will work. This year the weather forecast was clear weather.

For the first time, we did early sign ups at Jonesport Shipyard. I thought we would get a few, but when done we had just over 30 people entered and, in the computer, which saved a lot of time on race day.

As the sun rose there still was no fog in the Reach and that was a great sight. Sign ups were busy and when we were done, we had 102 boats entered. Since we had done some sign ups the night before it did not take long to get the rest into the computer, probably saving us a half hour to an hour.

The first race is a non-sanctioned race for recreational boats and this was won by Kraig Church in E-GADS [Donzi Classic 22; 540 hp Mirmon] with a speed of 77 mph. Back several boat lengths in second was Alton Smith’s ORANGE BLOSSOM SPECIAL.

There was a good turnout in the Work Boat classes, but some you have a hard time figuring out how it was a work boat. Just two came to the line in Class A and it was Ryker Gray [Sylvan 14, 25-hp Yamaha] coming across first with Teagan Gray’s LAST MINUTE [Mirrocraft 14; 25-hp Mercury] second. In Class B 11 boats were on the line and Ralph Davis’ ALPEX [16’, 90 hp Johnson] continued his domination with a speed of 46.8 mph. Back about three boat lengths was ZIPPIN’ TOO [Corson 15; 90-hp Nissan], which has a new owner, Colyn Rich of Bass Harbor. In Class C seven boats came to the line and Nathaniel Robinson’s DADDY DIDN’T BUY IT [Passamaquoddy 24; 350-hp Yamaha] was challenged by Caleb Norton’s OL’ BLUE [Evinrude 19; 250-hp] for the top spot, but he fended him off for the win with a speed of 50.3 mph. Third went to Tyler Childers’ BOTTOMS UP [Calvin Beal 20; 200-hp Yamaha].

Again, there were no entrants in Gasoline classes A, B, and C and just one in D and E and they ran down together. The sound of the big gas engines turned a lot of heads with the drop of the starting flag. FOOLISH PLEASURE was just to the right of BLACK DIAMOND as they came up the course but did not have enough to get by. I am not sure which race was videoed and put up on Facebook between these two, but in a week, it already had more than 12,000 views.

In the Diesel Classes there were no entries in Class J, L and O and we had just one with one entrant, Class K, and they were combined with Class I. The win in Class A went to Jacob Kirby’s BARE BOTTOM [BHM 25, 220-hp John Deere] with a speed of 28.9 mph followed by JUMPIN’S [Holland 30; 210-hp International], owned by Jeremey Tyler. Cole Beal’s BUCK WILD [Young Brothers 33; 230-hp Cummins] took first in Class B, but the real battle was for second between SHOCKWAVE and Glenn Beal’s VERDA MAE [38’; 220-hp John Deere]. As they neared the finish line SHOCKWAVE gained separation and took second in a close one. Roy Fagonde’s LAST DESIGN [E. Libby, Jr., 31; 300-hp Caterpillar] had been a dominate boat in Class C, but now just does the Moosabec races. He showed the other three on the line on the way up the course. He was followed over by Jason Tyler’s HOLLY LYNN [Holland 32; 315-hp Cummins] and in third was Shane Phinney’s KNOT SHORE [Crowley Beal 33; 318-hp Volvo]. Ivan Libby’s WRECKING CREW [Libby 38; 305-hp Caterpillar] and Chad Libby’s MYRTLE BELLE [Libby 34, 205-hp John Deere] came up the course in a close battle in Class D with WRECKING CREW winning by half a boat length. Whoops, there was a false start and they headed back down for a restart. This time they came up the course bow to bow, but the win went to MYRTLE BELLE with WRECKING CREW second. Third went to Conner Rossi’s ELLEN LOUISE [RP 35; 300-hp John Deere]. With the drop of the flag for the start of Class E, it was expected to be a close one between AUDREY MAY and Dan Sawyer’s HIGH VOLTAGE [AJ-28; 400-hp Yanmar]. At the finish line it was AUDREY MAY with a speed of 34 mph by a boat length and a half. Lawrence Merritt’s MELISSA JOY [Young Brothers 33; 425-hp Cummins] took third. Shawn Alley’s JOYCE ANN [Crowley-Beal 33; 420-hp Cummins] placed fourth, but we all wanted to see LITTLE GIRL [28’ Calvin Beal Jr.; big Chevy] back out. He is hoping to have her engine back together and we might see her before the end of the season. FAITH MELLE has been the dominant racer in Class F, but usually has stiff competition from his old boat, now owned by Mitch White, BOUNTY HUNTER [Calvin Beal 34; 425-hp Cummins] at the Moosabec races. Unfortunately, she had a minor issue and did not race. FAITH MELLE came flying up the left side of the course for the win with a speed of 39 mph. Second went to Ralph Backman’s LAST CALL [Crowley Beal 36; 425-hp FPT]. Three boats came to the line in Class G and Mariena Beal showed no mercy in MY TURN for the win with a speed of 39.7 mph. Steve Carver’s ANOTHER DIRLS [Holland 35, 550-hp John Deere] took second with Leon Smith’s ELENA & OLIVIA [RP 35; 450-hp Cummins] third. Class H promised to be a good race between MELYNDA M. and Dean Beal’s MISS NORMA [Wayne Beal 36; 500-hp Cummins]. MISS NORMA raced a few years on the circuit, but now just races Moosabec and Winter Harbor. MELYNDA M. is now the boat to beat, but they just did not have quite enough to get by MISS NORMA as they finished one-two. The real battle was for third and fourth between Josef Guptill’s INDIAN OUTLAW [Northern Bay 38; 500-hp Cummins] and Oscar Beal’s PAPA’S PRIDE [Wayne Beal 36; 500-hp FPT] with PAPA’S PRIDE just sneaking by for third. Class I and J were combined and a problem developed on Jackson Lemieux’s APSIRATION [Young Brothers 35; 450-hp Volvo], so they ran Class M(A) as they were ready to go. The winner and remaining undefeated for the year, was GRAMP’S LEGACY with a speed of 29.1 mph. Second went to Milton Merchant’s MISS TONIA [Libby 41; 500-hp Cummins]. It was discovered that ASPIRATION had a problem with an impellor and was out so it was only MISTY in Class I and LA BELLA VITA in Class J up next with each getting the win in their respective classes. Now it was M(B) with nine boats on the line. It was not surprising to see KIMBERLY ANN leading the way followed closely by ALEXSA ROSE. Third went to AIN’T MISS BEHAVIN’ [Calvin Beal 44; 750-hp John Deere], owned by Trevor Jessiman. For the last two years there has been a real battle between OBSESSION and NATALIE E. in Class N(A). As they headed up the course the judges could not tell who had the advantage, but as they neared halfway OBSESSION had the lead and won with a speed of 42.9 mph. Running up by herself was the only entrant in Class N(B), Dixon Smith’s SIZE MATTERS [Libby 45’ 3”; 1,000-hp FPT].

There was just one boat entered in the Wooden Boat Races, Lester Drisko’s LEGACY and she was in Wooden Boat (Any hp, 36 feet and over).

In the Gasoline Free-for-All it was a close one with BLACK DIAMOND just slipping over for the win against FOOLISH PLEASURE.

In the Diesel Free-for-All six boats came to the line and the winner was LA BELLA VITA, followed by FAITH MELLE and ALEXSA ROSE.

Just three boats came to the line for the World’s Fastest Working Lobster Boat Race and it was LA BELLA VITA, followed by FAITH MELLE with ANOTHER DIRL third.

For the final race of the day, World’s Fastest Recreational Lobster Boat Race, there was sort of a mix up and just BLACK DIAMOND and FOOLISH PLEASURE came to the line. BLACK DIAMOND was in the lead and took the win with a speed of 49.1 mph.

STONINGTON LOBSTER BOAT RACES – 13 JULY 2025

On Saturday I headed for Stonington on board SARI ANN I along with Travis Otis and FIRST TEAM for the races. We arrived at Billings Diesel & Marine for the night, but at 1630 we headed for the Harbor Master’s office to do early sign-ups. This was the first year we did this and we had over 40 boats entered when we called it quits. At these major events signing up some of the people the night before really makes sense as it saves a lot of time on race day and we can start closer to the scheduled time of the event.

The first two Work Boat Classes had a lot of entries, Class A had 15 and Class B 21. They were broken up into two heats and the top three boats in each heat went back down to run in the finals. Lucas Jones’ RED NECK RACER [Sears 12’; 25-hp Mercury], placed first with a speed of 30.1 mph. Second went to Haven Ciomei’s ESSIE GRACE [Holland 14; 25-hp Yamaha] followed by C. J. Gray in GRAY GHOST [Corson 14; 25-hp Yamaha]. In Class B the winner was Mason Vintinner’s SCREEN TIME with Aiden Rittenhouse’s QUICK TIDE in second and Colyn Rich’s APPROACH VELOCITY (x-ZIPPY II) [Corson 15; 90-hp Honda] third. There were nine boats on the line for Class C and at the line Nathaniel Robinson’s DADDY DIDN’T BUY IT slipped over first. Second went to Caleb Norton’s OL’ BLUE with Alan Talgo’s [Carolina Skiff 21; 115-hp Suzuki] third.

The next race was the John’s Bay Boat Co. Race and this was won by Dick Bridges’ KATHERINE ELLEN [John’s Bay 39; 450-hp Cummins] followed by John William’s KHRISTY MICHELLE [44’ Johns Bay; 500-hp Cummins] and Ann Johansen’s SARI ANN I in third.

We had three boats entered in the Gasoline Classes, all in different classes with no entrants in Classes A and C so they were run down together. It seemed that FOOLISH PLEASURE was running a little better, but BLACK DIAMOND still slipped by for the win. The winner of Class B was Brooklin Boat Yard’s RIPSNOTTER [Custom 28; 350 ci Chevy]. This boat was a sister to CRY BABY [25’ D&L BW, 292 Chevrolet] and was being built by D & L Boatworks of Lewiston. However, they could not finish the project and she was bought by Brooklin Boat Yard and completed.

Four boats came to the line for the Wooden Boat Races. In Wooden Boat (any hp, up to 35’ 11”) was just Kathy Lymburner’s EMMA G. [31’ Buxton, 355-hp John Deere]. There were three boats in Wooden Boat (any hp, 36’ feet and over). SARI ANN I was just able to squeak by KHRISTY MICHELLE for the win and in third was Milton Allen’s WIND WAKER [Willis Beal 37; 220-hp John Deere].

In the Diesel Classes there were no entrants in just Class O. First in Class A went to Richard Hildings’ CAP’T EM [Calvin Beal 20; 235-hp Cummins] with a speed of 29.6 mph. In second was Andrew Reed’s BITTERSWEET [South Shore 30; 210-hp Cummins]. Jeff Gove’s SHOCKWAVE [Harold Gower 38; 210-hp Cummins] was the winner in Class B. Second went to Hilton Turner’s RHONDA JEAN [Duffy 34; 210-hp Caterpillar] and in third was Colyn Rich’s SILVER CHARIOT. The winner of Class C was LEAH MORGAN, followed by Julie Eaton’s CAT SASS [Crowley 28; 305-hp Cummins] and in third was Mike Dassett’s SAVING GRACE. The winner of Class D was Dan Carter’s OUTNUMBERED [Duffy 35; 300-hp John Deere] with Robin Dunham’s SAMANTHA ERIN [Duffy 35; 315-hp Cummins] second. There was no surprise seeing AUDREY MAY leading the rest to the finish line in Class E. Second went to Danny Eaton’s DESTINY [Crowley 28; 420-hp Yanmar]. There were eleven boats on the line for Class F and it was all Winfred Alley’s FAITH MELLE. Second went to Ed Torosian’s MS. ROSE [Mitchell Cove 35; 350-hp Cummins] and in third was Bennett Gray’s BABA BUOY [South Shore 34; 300-hp Caterpillar]. Mariena Beal’s MY TURN was a no show for Class G. The rumour was they had blown a turbo at the Moosabec Reach races the previous weekend. The question was who would take the top spot. At the line it was David Osgood’s SPLIT SECOND [Crowley Beal 33; 550-hp D-8 Volvo] followed by Jamie Hardy’s MISS JOANNE [Mitchell Cove 35; 550-hp John Deere] and then Avery Waterman’s SOUTHERN COMFORT [Mitchell Cove 35; 450-hp Cummins]. I decided to photograph from FIRST TEAM in Class H for better photographs, but that is a challenge. The top boat in this class has been MELYNDA M., which was right on our starboard side. When the flag dropped Heath Eaton’s OFF THE HOOK [Crowley 36; 500-hp Caterpillar] jumped into the lead with MELYNDA M. back half a boat length. As we moved up the course MELYNDA M. began gaining and by halfway, she was a boat length ahead with OFF THE HOOK falling back. We finished second to MELYNDA M. in a close race. The photo I wanted was MELYNDA M. just as she took the lead, but we were riding the wake and that can toss a boat around and I did not feel like getting tossed over the side with the rest of Class H just behind us. There was just one boat in Class I, Chris Smith’s MISTY, and she ran down with the six boats in Class J. MISTY was out in front but being chased closely by Scott Keenan’s DEAR ABBIE [Northern Bay 38, 700 hp Volvo]. DEAR ABBIE would win Class J with second going to Carl Gross’ HEY BABY [Northern Bay 36; 610-hp Volvo] and Eric Robbins’ SLEEPLESS NIGHTS [Calvin Beal 36; 675-hp Scania] in third. Next up was Class K and it was no surprise to see LA BELLA VITA streaking up the course with Nick Wiberg’s WITCHING HOUR [Northern Bay 36; 815-hp] just behind him. Third went to Steven Osgood’s SHOOTIN’ STAR [Northern Bay 36; 750-hp John Deere]. Also racing up with them was the one boat in Class L, Robert Johnson, Jr.’s MISS AVA ELAINE [Northern Bay 36; 1,200-hp MAN], who seemed to have an issue keeping her speed up. Chris Pope brought OLD SCHOOL [Holland 41; 380-hp Cummins] out for the first time this season and won Diesel Class M(A) with a speed of 28.6 mph. He was followed over by KHRISTY MICHELLE and then Alan Knowlton’s SEA URCHIN [Young Brothers 45, 425-hp John Deere]. I was sitting halfway up the course when the leaders in Class M(B) passed and in the lead by a couple of boat lengths was ALEXSA ROSE followed by KIMBERLY ANN. Then came the call from the announcer that the judges were divided as it was too close to call when they went over the finish line and they were asked to rerun the race. While they waited for them to return to the starting area, they ran Class N(A). This is always one of the best races of the day between Ryan Lemieux’s OBSESSION and Dana Beal’s NATALIE E. When they passed halfway, they were bow to bow and then came the call that OBSESSION was the winner with NATALIE E. second. In the re-race of Class M(B) the win went to KIMBERLY ANN with ALEXSA ROSE right on her stern in another close finish. Three boats came to the line for Class N(B), which was won by Tom Clemons’ 4 LADIES [Wesmac SW46; 1,000-hp Caterpillar] with Eric Harjula’s NOAH & LILY [Wayne Beal 46; 1,000-hp FPT], second and Ben Weed’s EMMA & ANDREW [Mussel Ridge 49’ 11”; 700-hp Caterpillar] third.

The next scheduled race was the Gasoline Free-for-All and it was learned that FOOLISH PLEASURE and BLACK DIAMOND were done for the day. FOOLISH PLEASURE’s battery was dead and BLACK DIAMOND had lost oil pressure.

In the Diesel Free-for-All the odds on favourite was Robert Johnson’s MISS AVA ELAINE and he did not disappoint. In second was LA BELLA VITA followed by WITCHING HOUR.

In the Andrew Gove Memorial Cup – Fastest Working Lobster Boat, WITCHING HOUR was bow to bow with LA BELLA VITA. LA BELLA VITA would get the win with WITCHING HOUR second and in third was 4 LADIES.

The final race was for the Jimmy Stevens Cup – Fastest Boat Afloat which had the same top two, but ALEXSA ROSE slipped over in third.

With the racing over most headed for the dock for the hat drawings. There were lots of prizes and the big winner was Chris Pope of Swan’s Island (OLD SCHOOL), who walked away with $5,000.

It is now off to Friendship for the sixth race of the season.
